Play it Safe at the Beach this Summer

South Florida beaches can be a fun way to spend the day and Summer is quickly approaching; with that in mind, it probably has been a year since going to the beach. This year we are all eager to get out, explore and return to some normalcy of living. Whether you go to the beach with small children, adults or alone here are a the top safety tips and things to remember to stay safe at the beach.

  1. VERY IMPORTANT: Swim at a patrolled beach.
  2. Read all posted safety signs and warnings
  3. Know where the lifegaurd stations are located
  4. Avoid swimming alone
  5. Do not swim after consuming alcohol
  6. Stay hydrated with plenty of water
  7. Wear watersheds to protect yourself from glass or sharp objects
  8. Make sure to reapply sunscreen frequently and after swimming.
  9. Always keep children in sight.
  10. Do not swim at night.

We will continue to inform you about local beach clean ups throughout the summer. The next beach clean up is on June 8th, World Oceans Day at Coral Cove Park, South Jupiter Island from 1-4pm. Start Giving Back this November

Sign up now to volunteer for one or all of these community events to start giving back today. Volunteer opportunities this NovemberVolunteers of the Palm Beaches is part of Volunteers of Today, Inc, a nonprofit corporation whose mission is to engage locals with volunteer opportunities in ther community. Volunteers of the Palm Beaches was started by Kimberly Maxwell in June 2017. The group has grown since to over 1,000 volunteer members. The group works with local nonprofits to help fill their need for volunteers to make their organizations excel. There are several progams offered from Feeding the Hungry, Disaster Relief to Animal Care. Find a program you are passionate about and jump right in.
