Enjoy the holiday season on ice at Palm Beach Skate Zone

Having lived in South Florida for nearly my entire life, I haven’t been on the ice since early childhood. Memories of being outside on the pond trying to skate in the freezing cold pretty much sums it up. So, when I was invited to hit the ice for a skate party I was apprehensive and a little fearful. However, putting the skates on and hitting the ice was just like riding a bike. After a few times around clinging to the wall, I was doing pretty good. I didn’t even fall! Skating was tons of fun! The holiday decorations and Christmas music set the stage for a full blown holiday experience.

I will definitely be heading back with the family before the holiday’s are over. All month long they have special events and are open for holiday fun skating December 21, 2019 to January 6, 2020! If you need skate, no problem. Skate rental is available for $4.00. For those skate challenged, they have walkers for support and they have these adorable little plastic seals for kids to sit on so adults can push around the little ones. There are also rink monitors just in the instance someone falls or gets hurt. A parent or guardian must sign a waiver for children under 18 years of age. And, I must warn you, wear a vest, hat and gloves – it is really cold! After a bout an hour I was frozen and ready for some hot chocolate and a cozy blanket to wrap up in.
